Public bug reported: This started happening within the last few days. To reproduce, open Krita or Gimp and paint for a random amount of time. Eventually pen input will stop. Seems to be random but so far happens between 0 - 10 minutes of using the pen on the display.
I can get pen input to work again by power cycling my cintiq monitor. But eventually pen input will stop working again after power cycling the monitor. I did a fresh install of Kubuntu 20.04 to see if this would clear up, unfortunately a fresh install doesn't seem to fix the problem. I am not entirely sure where to start troubleshooting this. It doesn't seem to be a problem with the application I am using, since both Gimp and Krita are affected by this. After the bug occurs, lsusb shows that the device is still connected. I will attach system and xorg log files in case these can help identify the problem. Please let me know how to get additional troubleshooting information if needed. lsb_release -rd Description: Ubuntu 20.04.2 LTS Release: 20.04 xsetwacom --list devices Wacom Express Key Remote Pad pad id: 9 type: PAD Wacom Cintiq Pro 24 Pen stylus id: 10 type: STYLUS Wacom Cintiq Pro 24 Pen eraser id: 11 type: ERASER ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: cintiq input wacom ** Attachment added: "dmesg" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1938727/+attachment/5515404/+files/dmesg -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1938727 Title: wacom cintiq pen input stops randomly when using painting application To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1938727/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
