I think it has to do with KDE itself. If I insert a CD or mount an external drive, I presume that dbus signals KDE of the new device. I presume that the same event is triggered when the loopback device mounts the ISO image. Actually KDE shows the konqueror icon bouncing up and down the real cursor.
