Could you please provide us more details about this problem?
1) Is your disk full? If in doubt, run this command at the terminal:
df -h
2) Can you try to open a terminal and run "gnome-settings-daemon" and
paste here the full output?
3) Could you send us your ~/.xsession-errors file? It would be better if
you could delete it, then try to use GNOME again, then send us the
content of that file (somehow).
In any case, I believe this is a duplicate bug of #146946
