Hi, there is an option in Views which is called "Show Hidden Files" which can also be used to toggle viewing backup (~) and hidden files (.)
changing the option in view->"show hidden files" seems to take effect immediately in your nautilus session (however a change will not be remembered across different nautilus sessions) the value set in preferences->views->show backup and hidden files has a different behavior : - this value will be used at a next nautilus session - a change in this value will take effect immediately only if the view->"show hidden files" option has not been used in that nautilus session I'm not sure whether this is the way it is supposed to work In gedit you can right-click in the side pane and than choose filter->show hidden to show hidden/backup files (or click on the key symbol in the side pane) same versions as Marc but on a Gutsy64bit Koen -- gedit: trash files do not show in file browser https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/164584 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
