Further to yesterday's comment, issue is occuring while installing (using debian-installer), at the "Install the GRUB boot loader on a hard disk" stage. Displayed error is: "Unable to install GRUB in /dev/mapper/<machine_name>--vg-root"
I have worked-around by choosing not to use LVM (I am choosing the "Guided - use entire disk" option), which reduces disk manageability. I'm left with the impression installing Ubuntu on enterprise-grade hardware is a bit alpha. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1274320 Title: Error: diskfilter writes are not supported To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/grub/+bug/1274320/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
