I tried to follow the github "conversation" that you were engaged in,
bit beyond my pay grade . . . but this morning I quickly checked the
"home" folder via right click and in permissions the "make file
executable" box was checked as "on" . . . ???

Don't know if that relates to the suggested "solution" . . . and not
sure where you are standing, but to me, the "home" desktop file is part
of my "user" data and should seemingly just "work"???  Don't know why I
should have to mess with it to get it to "work"???  Why should I have to
"activate" my desktop folders??

Other question, why is it that trying to open those desktop files
results in "error" message??
