Public bug reported: On Ubuntu MATE "Cosmic" 18.10, the extra codecs pack option that appears either in Start → Updates & extras (Welcome) or in the Audio & Video section (Boutique) can't be installed (or uninstalled if already there from a previous version) because of missing gstreamer1.0-fluendo-mp3 package in the Cosmic repos.
I'm not sure if it's a mistake, as it is still listed as recommended for ubuntu-restricted-addons but is noted as unavailable (https://packages.ubuntu.com/cosmic/ubuntu-restricted-addons) and should be fixed upstream, or if it's been replaced by a different package and should be fixed in the Boutique. ** Affects: ubuntu-mate-welcome (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1798795 Title: Welcome/Boutique can't install codecs pack on Cosmic due to missing package To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubuntu-mate-welcome/+bug/1798795/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
