@Gil0224, that is not true. GPT is part of the UEFI standard, but you can install a Linux OS also in BIOS Legacy mode on a GPT formatted disk (you need a bios_grub- partition). On the other side you can install a Linux OS on a MBR formatted disk in UEFI mode.
