Steve, feel free to reject that upload with the obvious mistake. Ubuntu GNOME has used a tasksel feature as part of its documentation for a while and it would be nice if that feature continued to exist. We'd like the ability to run sudo apt install vanilla-gnome-desktop^ (note the trailing ^ ) to be able to make sure that all recommended packages from the metapackage are installed.
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ZestyZapus/ReleaseNotes/UbuntuGNOME#Upgrade https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Tasksel#Usage_.28alternative.29 And vanilla-gnome-desktop is for those who want all the core GNOME apps, the default upstream GDM theming, etc. that obviously is not a goal for ubuntu-desktop. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1720492 Title: regenerate Ubuntu GNOME tasks To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/tasksel/+bug/1720492/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
