According to the http://linux-ata.org/driver-status.html#sw_support site, AHCI and ata_piix should support the ICH6M chipset. + I somehow got this working once by adding libata, but I am unable to + sucessfully repeat this. The system successfully installed the OS but + remains unbootable at this point. + I am unsure what else to do at this point as Ubuntu 6.10 works fine on this system.
