This might be a silly suggestion (i've not seen this make of laptop), but some have a touchpad disable feature, either as a button near the touchpad, or as a Fn +F?? keypress. Do you have anything which looks like it might be a touchpad / mouse emblem on top of a F?? key? (I've seen Fn+F7 suggested as a possibility for a similar model number).
