To install crossbuild-eseential-$foo, one needs to: 1) enable $foo in dpkg 2) add apt sources for $foo arch 3) apt update.
The three apt lines look good. Was arm64 added in dpkg? E.g. $ sudo dpkg --add-architecture arm64 ? Note, I'm on xenial, and I can't remember if foreign architecture handling in dpkg was done differently check your manpage. Also why use trusty instead of xenial? ** Changed in: build-essential (Ubuntu) Status: New => Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1698980 Title: Can't install on trusty arm64 chroot To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/build-essential/+bug/1698980/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
