Based on the logs I provided, I received a suggestion to look at "etc/apt/sources.list" to see if there are any malformed lines or other errors.
There are 3 lines in that file: deb http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ trusty main universe deb-src http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ trusty main universe deb [arch=arm64] http://ports.ubuntu.com/trusty main universe The third line is very suspicious, but I don't know how to fix it. I tried adding a 4th line: "deb-src [arch=arm64] http://ports.ubuntu.com/trusty main universe", but that didn't change the results. I then removed the "[arch=arm64] from both lines, but that also didn't change the results -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1698980 Title: Can't install on trusty arm64 chroot To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/build-essential/+bug/1698980/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
