rachel, to allow for the specific touchpad scrolling etc i had to replace the driver to vmmouse. i used the generic kernel - maybe this is the problem. i my case hdd access is slow and the system is sluggish (compared to a parallels installation with 512mb ram). for instance if you run sidux from an hdd disc image as "live-cd" it works much faster than after installation. i am using fusion 1.1b
