> Bazaar development is in maintenance mode and there are not resources
to port it to python 3.

I'm been "maintaining" bzr for the last years being perfectly aware that
the python3 support was important.

I'm a bit surprised to find this bug as the first contact with the
bazaar project but let's start this important discussion nevertheless,
thanks for that.

There have been talks recently on the bazaar mailing list about porting
to python3 but nothing concrete came out of it indeed.

I'm only recently, and slowly, learning the debain and ubuntu packaging
to reduce its burden for bazaar itself, debian and ubuntu (I thought
that would the best use of the copious free time I can devote to that
;).

If nothing is cast in stone yet though, would you be open to discuss
delaying the demoting until python2 itself is demoted ?

bzr is still used in various parts of the infrastructure supporting
ubuntu and I thought talk about taking care of those parts will come
before bzr is demoted, may be you know more than me about that ?

Or may be supporting python2 use of bzr is having costs I don't realize
and you can shed some light on that ?
