Sorry, but ALT+CTRL+F2 takes me nowhere. Just a blinking prompt with no possibility to issue any commands. No virtual console. Therefore I can't startx or reach /var/log/.
I have a discrete Nvidia card, desktop, and Intel graphics on my laptop. It's weird since I have now tested the new daily build of Xubuntu (20160419) and it's working flawlessly.
