Public bug reported: I have found that the RC2 version of Ubuntu 16.04, when installed via PXE, will not install on machines with the local hard drive set to AHCI mode. I have to reset the BIOS to use the legacy IDE mode instead, or the installer will not detect any disks. I have encountered this issue on Dell R220s, and Advantech FWA-1320, so it doesn't appear to be limited to a single hardware platform.
If I set the machine to Legacy IDE (or similar), the drive is detected, and the install proceeds normally. ** Affects: pxe (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1571762 Title: Ubuntu 16.04 RC2 net installer won't detect AHCI drives To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/pxe/+bug/1571762/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
