Public bug reported: Installer version: 446 Kernel: 4.4.0.18 Description/Reproduction: During an installation test I found out, that there is a problem when trying to install Ubuntu. I tried various constellations, i.e. VM with DASD, LPAR with SCSI and with DASD. The result is the same. The installation fails with "Debootstrap warning. Warning: Failure while configuring base packages. This will be re-attempted up to five times" After that, the installer says "Unable to install busybox-initramfs. An error was returned while trying to install the busybox-initramfs package onto the target system."
I will attach the log files of my various installation attempts. > Hi Michael, > > Is this a regression from a previous installer image? Hi Luciano, if you mean by "regression", if it has worked before? Then yes. My guess is that it is not a problem of the installer but a problem of this package "busybox-initramfs". ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Assignee: Skipper Bug Screeners (skipper-screen-team) Status: New ** Tags: architecture-s39064 bugnameltc-140291 severity-critical targetmilestone-inin1604 ** Tags added: architecture-s39064 bugnameltc-140291 severity-critical targetmilestone-inin1604 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1570029 Title: [Regression] busybox-initramfs package cannot be installed on 16.04 for s390x To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1570029/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
