I have a similar problem with a Lenovo Thinkpad T61. I made um upgrade
for the Power Manager 2.20.0 and after that upgrade it left to show the
Battery TAB, I cant do any change and isn't show any information about
battery status.

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:/proc/acpi/battery$ cat /proc/acpi/battery/BAT0/state
present:                 yes
capacity state:          ok
charging state:          discharging
present rate:            17374 mW
remaining capacity:      13920 mWh
present voltage:         14637 mV

In this moment I'm working only with the battery and the icon it's shown
like i have plugging the AC Power.
