I could not figure out what it exactly did. After I dumped the LVM2
metadata, I could see that it erased all of the logical volumes, volume
group and physical volume. LVM save a buffer of all the changes and I
was able to recover the original state. However, after rebuilding the PV
with the old UUID and importing the old VG and LV configs some of my LV
file systems were corrupted and could not be recovered. One of the old
LV mounted correctly with all data, however this was not the one I was
hoping to get back.

I'm sure the next person that hits this will really appreciate it if you
could fix this.
