I have been playing around with 'scankey -s' a bit, testing differant variations. I have finally figured out what is happening.
If you hit Fn + F1 it will emit the signal 0xe0 0x75 when the button is pressed. If you turn back on the touch pad it also emits the signal 0xe0 0x75.
