Christopher M. Penalver (penalvch), The notepad was purchased earlier this year and had the previous LTS version of Ubuntu (12.04?) preinstalled. I believe that it was in non-UEFI mode as I have not made any changes to this (see below). It was upgraded directly to the current LTS release, 14.04 and it was at this point that the touchpad stopped working.
I have just tried booting on an older version of the kernel 3.5.0-54 from the boot menu, and the touchpad still does not work. I just tried booting in UEFI mode (by disabling legacy mode) from the hard drive but the BIOS reports that there is no operating system on the drive. Re-enabled legacy mode and booted as normal but still no touchpad. ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete => Confirmed -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1362584 Title: [HP 255 G1 Notebook PC] Synaptics Touchpad not Working after upgrade from 12.04.1 LTS to 14.04.1 LTS To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1362584/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
