Maintained software can be as much insecure (heartbleed, shellshock) as unmaintained one. Also, this is just desktop client software, not server mission critical one. Denying access to it due to potential unfixed security issues is complete arrogance. Please leave the bug as it is, maybe someone who actually cares will stumble upon it. You want to decide what is better for me without my consent, which puts you in the same camp as censors and other freedom takers.
Your argument about lack of manpower is also invalid, security of all the software in universe and multiverse is not guaranteed and it is for users to decide to use it or not. You want to take the choice from users away. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/188110 Title: [needs-packaging] zmviewer To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/188110/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
