I've been seeing this off and on for a while, with no idea what causes it to work or not. I had thought for a while that it was fixed, but it just seems to happen at random and I simply didn't hit it for a while.
After it fails, sometimes I can reboot and try again and it'll work. Sometimes after a reboot it still fails. At a guess, it looks like the widgets register a tap but fail to register the release afterward, and thus fails to activate the callback attached to the widget.
