Hi, I don't know exactly why this happens, but this issue has surely been fixed since v.0.03, because you can now define your own media folders and the management of the latter has thus completely changed. I'm not sure whether a new version will make its way into Ubuntu since the features freeze is planed soon. You should certainly try to install a newer version from the website (there are .deb packages there).
