Hi, Same behavior here. A brand new installation of a amd64 Ubuntu 14.04 (dual boot win 8) which resulted in a a broken grub2 ("symbol 'grub_term_highlight_color' not found"). This is fresh install, no grub- install. Grub2 is normaly on /dev/sda.
Using the BIOS Boot menu (or Super Grub 2 disk) is my only possibility to boot Ubuntu (maybe also with grub_rescue). None of the propositions (grub install, dpkg-reconfigur, boot-repair ...) above fixed the issue. There is clearly a bug somewhere. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1289977 Title: Ubuntu 14.04 Update breaks grub, resulting in "error: symbol 'grub_term_highlight_color' not found" To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/grub2/+bug/1289977/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
