Public bug reported: Binary package hint: usplash
When booting either Tribe 4 or Tribe 5 desktop cd, in both i386 and amd64 variants, progress bar is outsized (on my screen, extends over 16.8cm rather than the usual 10.5cm and is 1 or 2 mm taller) and is displaced to right of screen (i.e. it starts on the correct place + extra length is all to the right). Logo + "ubuntu" above the progress bar is correct size but resolution seems poor. xorg loads correctly, but on examination /etc/usplash.conf contains no values for either xres or yres: # Usplash configuration file xres= yres= Normal values (i.e. for my installed amd64 Ubuntu Feisty system) are xres=1024 yres=768). Graphics card is an nVidia Corporation NV18 [GeForce4 MX 4000] Monitor is a Compaq FP170 The most recent desktop cd to produce a normal usplash on my machine was the 2007-07-30 Daily Build (though that had problems of its own i.e. I needed to manually enter "startx" at a prompt in order to get xorg to load - this has _not_ been a problem for me on Tribe 4 or Tribe 5 desktop cds). ** Affects: usplash (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Progress bar problems + failure to set usplash.conf values in Ubuntu tribe 4 and tribe 5 i386 and amd64 desktop cds https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/134768 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
