My last post was rambling, so to clarify:

Jumping from the PDF, for example from a line in chapter 2, back to the
corresponding line in the LaTeX code, while texmaker's sourceviewer has
a different file(s) in addition to chapter2.tex open, and the source
viewer is focussed on a different file (anything except chapter2.tex).
Then texmaker opens a duplicate chapter2.tex.

(note: only occurs with Built-in PDF viewer in non-embedded mode.
Embedded mode seems not to do this.)
