Ok, so the problem is not with alsa-driver - when I change the volume level with alsamixer, the actual volume changes as expected. Rather, it is Unity's sound level applet.
In alsamixer, there are three main items: Master, Headphone and PCM. When I drag the slider of the graphical applet from 0 to approximately 60%, it first changes the "Headphone" level; after that the actual "Master" level is changed. That doesn't make any sense! I don't want the "Headphone" level to be changed at all. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1207808 Title: Sound volume level doesn't grow linerly To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/alsa-driver/+bug/1207808/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
