My previous installs did use LVM, but I was able to reproduce it with Precise release with or without the use of LVM, or when booting from CD (the notebook used for testing did not support USB boot). Precise server installed using LVM with a dm-crypt partition containing a swap file triggered it for me; putting the dm-crypt partition outside LVM, interestingly, did not.
I have now tested, and I have not been able to reproduce the bug in Saucy 2013-06-07 daily build with any combination of install features including LVM or encrypted home, even with cryptswap on LVM and the installer booted from USB. I think it may be resolved, but as the bug does not always show up, others who have been affected should confirm. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/798086 Title: Occasional "The disk drive for /dev/mapper/cryptswap1 is not ready yet or not present" on system startup To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/798086/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
