Yes, it seems this bug is being encountered alot. Google searched forums are coming up with thousands of un-answered problem threads.
I have the same problem. Pretty much a brand new Dell Latitude D830. Not sure of the mobo or some of the other hardware. It is running an Intel Centrino Duo, and it seems that alot of people having boot problems are having this error. I am having the same error with Ubuntu, and Kubutnu 7.04. I need to try and find an old 6.10 disk, if thats what I need to do to make this work.
