I'm on ubuntu studio v11.04 box. Question about the computer regarding the ticket.
Is it possible to use grub to fix the problem? If not, logged in as root GUI, is there a simple text file that you could alter to tell computer to seek, find a swap partition? -Last resort: Backing up files from internal 650 GB SATA drive onto (already 60% full WD USB external 2 TB v3 USB drive. WORST CASE SCENARIO: -Dig out original Ubuntu Studio v10.04 LTS 64 bit DVD -or- install Ubuntu Studio v12.04 LTS. do a cold install. :( (NOTE: i remember a few years back being told IDJC will ONLY work on Studio LTS versions. v10.04 LTS support ran out July 2011) Had 4 strokes since 2010. My memory is garbage, hence occasionally forgetting to activate swap. Worse is typing to my girlfriend from the wrong keyboard.
