@Scott: Yep, more or less, in the sense that I put acpi=noirq as boot parameter 
editing temporarily the boot parameters at startup. I think if this acpi=noirq 
solution works, should works as one-time try and can't be dependent on the 
number of reboots, but if you say that it works for you that's good. I don't 
know what really is/involves "acpi=noirq" and I also don't know what 
is/involves the disabling of gpe13.
So the questions can be these:
- it's better acpi=noirq or disabling gpe13?
- what does they mean/involve?

My Chronos is the NP700Z7C-S01IT model with Ubuntu 12.10 (no dual boot,
w8 was removed) with all updates.
