Good, I've written to Ubuntu's technical board (I hope the distribution
list gets monitored).

This is my mail:

Hey there,

First time I write to this list...

Thanks for co-creating Ubuntu. Have been using it since 9.10 as my main
OS. All swell and stable until upgrading to 12.04 LTS.

The system got unstable, completely freezing with only a hard reset
working to boot it back up. This happens within 10 minutes of usage,
without specific scenario's... unfortunately. 12.10 does not solve the
problem...

I'm writing because of bug #993187 (https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/993187)

It's been active since 02/05/2012 and has been put on "Won't Fix" for
the last few months.

Its heat is at 1838 and rising - making it the hottest bug around if I
queried the db well.

Can one of you please look into it - I think the best place to start is from
the bottom upwards? The bug comments at 600+ are not clean. There are lots of
persons posting with a responsive system - not valid for this report. There are
a lot who aren't though.

I offered to clean these up, but I don't have a clue how. I suppose it
is a permissions thing.

Do look into it and at least comment on it. If I can be of any non-technical
help, please advice

Thanks in advance.

Happy holidays.

Joris

PS: back on 11.10 now, which is rock-solid.
