@renaud: with all due respect, but you belong to the group of people who should not be posting in this thread. If you can still "sudo pkill", then your system still is responsive. This thread is about COMPLETE lockups: no mouse, no kb, no tty, no SSH possible. Holding the power button and rebooting is the only means of recovery!
@admins / canonical: I would be willing to clean up the 500+ posts in this thread to sift out false reports like the above and only keep the relevant ones.
