I solved the problem installing Mint 14 Cinnamon instead of Ubuntu, didn't want to break the hard disk due to the continuos powering off of the frozen PC. With Mint14 works fine. Unfortunately when you install Ubuntu you could not choose what to install from the beginning if you want Unity or not, and the system freeze also with a live CD of Ubuntu from 11.04 , 11.10 and 12.04 soon after the splash boot not leaving any possibility to make a recover action.
