There's a fix for 12.04 in the upload queue (https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/precise/+queue?queue_state=1&queue_text=), so it should be landing in precise-proposed shortly. It addresses this bug by fixing the most annoying LO/bamf behavior in 12.04, while further fixes to other aspects of LO problems will be landing in the next update - the fixes are in the bamf 0.2 branch nowadays.
