Please run 'apport-collect -p plymouth 1069583'.

If you hit Esc when the system boots to a purple screen, does anything
happen?  Does anything happen if you try to change VTs with Alt+F1?

It would also be helpful if you could boot with
'plymouth.debug=file:/var/log/plymouth-debug.log', with splash set, and
attach the resulting file.  (You may of course have to reboot twice, if
the first boot doesn't let you boot to the GUI; in that case, please
take care that the second boot does NOT include this boot argument since
it would overwrite the debug log that we're looking for.
