To provide some context for the bugsquad: FreeRDP rewrote a significant portion of their code between FreeRDP .0.8.2 (in this Lucid bug) & FreeRDP 1.0.1 (in Precise), as explained in this link: http://sourceforge.net/mailarchive/message.php?msg_id=27782543 I've never encountered this issue on FreeRDP 0.8.2 or 1.0.1, but this change to FreeRDP means the bug was very likely to have been fixed.
Danny, Since you downloaded FreeRDP directly from the upstream FreeRDP project themselves, you need to file any possible bugs with in their bug tracker here: https://github.com/FreeRDP/FreeRDP/issues?state=closed As some personal advice, it sounds like you forgot to install the CentOS package libxkbfile-devel before compiling.
