Hi,

Thanks in advance for your efforts.

I've installed the snd-hda-dkms package (alsa-hda-
dkms_0.201205230849~precise1_all.deb) and now i have no sound. My sound
card appears has dummy output (please check the snapshot).

In /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf i've tested with several models:

options snd-hda-intel model=ref
or
options snd-hda-intel model=hp-dv5 enable_msi=1 (is the one that worked before
installed the package but only with 2 audio channels)
or even:
options snd-hda-intel model=auto

Please note that i'm using pulse audio.
I've tried with or without in ( /etc/pulse/daemon.conf):

default-sample-channels = 6
enable-lfe-remixing = true
or
default-sample-channels = 8
enable-lfe-remixing = true
or
nothing

No sound at all in any case.

I really don't know the optimal configuration, so if you could tell me
what kind of configurations do you want to me to test with please
inform.

in
/etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf
What is the model that i put? Enable the msi or not?

pulseaudio: i believe in this phase should be irrevelant but its really
necessary to add?:
default-sample-channels = 8
enable-lfe-remixing = true

About the actual driver i believe its really not working.

Thanks
