melenzb: The Shotwell icon also fails to show up for me when I build Shotwell myself. Not sure why - I've been meaning to look into this at some point. For some other developers at Yorba the icon shows up fine in their own build.
Clint: The configure option --unity-support is actually unrelated to this problem.
