melenzb: You'll be pleased to know that we've just checked a small fix into trunk that should help, and it's slated for inclusion into 0.12.3. Along with checking for the presence of (and enumerating image and video files in) /DCIM, we'll now also try /PRIVATE/AVCHD and /AVCHD as well, which should cover most camcorders.
