Monitor doesn't go into power save mode after 10 minutes (default
setting). The screen goes black, but the monitor remains on. This is
appearing after upgrading a clean install of 11.10 to 12.04.

I expected the monitor to go into power save mode.
Instead, it remained in full-power-using mode with the screen blank.
