Sounds like a great suggestion. But I have no idea which wiki you are suggesting. So a link to the wiki in your answer would be helpful.
I am not sure if step by step how tos would reduce the number of support requests because if users had confidence that they could upgrade and solve problems in a few clearly defined steps instead of learning everything in the history of a bug, there would be many more users. Putting the wiki link below a long history of discussion of the bug called "answers" seems like the wrong approach to me. I think most users just want to go directly to the step by step fix instead of reading any history. Maybe the tab I suggested earlier could link directly to a wiki page with the fix. The wiki page could be generated automatically for each "bug." The developers could be asked always keep the easiest solution or solutions explained on the wiki fix page. Thanks for your help. I knew it should have been filed under Launchpad instead of ubuntu - hplip but the sw would not let me do that. --- Tim Butler <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > Your suggestion is probably more related to Launchpad rather than the > hplip package. > > The wiki generally provides a lot of good information of various fixes > and topics like this, maybe under answers the package could have the > ability to link to a wiki page?
