I get a lot crashes whenever a program uses the sys tray. The screen is flickering when something is added to it and flickers again when removed. I guess every flickering has a chance to become a crash. :( My solution for now is to remove icons that are not needed. For example I disabled them for VLC and MPlayer so there is no flickering for starting a video anymore. (Still Cinnamon 1.3.1.)
