** Description changed: I am using Ubuntu 11.10 and when ever I connect beagleboard-xm embedded device to the serial port of my machine and turn it on, the machine restarts. It happens on all serial port applications like gtkterm, cutecom, minicom, etc. I think its a bug with the serial port driver or the kernel. The serial port settings are 115200, no parity, 8 bits, 1 stop bit, no flow control. Tried the same from virtual console using minicom and disabling the GUI and still the same problem. Tried the same by rebooting in recovery mode, drop to root shell, using minicom and it works perfectly fine. + Update : Without even starting the terminal application in Ubuntu, just + by starting the beagleboard xm the machine restarts ! + The same machine work properly on Windows XP + Hyperterminal.
