** Description changed:

I am using Ubuntu 11.10 and when ever I connect beagleboard-xm embedded
device to the serial port of my machine and turn it on, the machine
restarts. It happens on all serial port applications like gtkterm,
- cutecom, etc. I think its a bug with the serial port driver or the
- kernel. The serial port settings are 115200, no parity, 8 bits, 1 stop
- bit, no flow control.
+ cutecom, minicom, etc. I think its a bug with the serial port driver or
+ the kernel. The serial port settings are 115200, no parity, 8 bits, 1
+ stop bit, no flow control.
+
+ Tried the same from virtual console using minicom and disabling the GUI
+ and still the same problem.
+
+ Tried the same by rebooting in recovery mode, drop to root shell, using
+ minicom and it works perfectly fine.

The same machine work properly on Windows XP + Hyperterminal.
