Nikita: I only get this crash when cube is enabled. If I switch to desktop wall, I don't have the crash.
The bug I linked to involved a redraw of the screen when the cube is rotated, causing a "flicker." This case appears to involve some kind of race condition, in which the desktop is being "respawned too quickly" when alt-tab is used. I wonder if an intended fix to the "flicker" issue is related to the current bug. You state that you still get the crash when not using any compiz effects.
