No, even after complete removal through synaptic and renaming ~/.openoffice.org2 to something else, the problem persists after reinstallation. I can now open OO writer without it asking for any file recovery, but as soon as I start typing a few letters in the new doc opened by default, it crashes (OO window closes)... :(
