I can reproduce it. It happens when the foomatic-rip CUPS filter
converts the incoming PDF data to PostScript because Canon's driver
needs it.

You can already reproduce it by running the following command in a
terminal window:

pdf2ps printout

and then display the result, for example via

gs printout.ps

Then you also see the colons replaced by apostrophes.

I will report this upstream to the Ghostscript developers.
