I can reproduce it. It happens when the foomatic-rip CUPS filter converts the incoming PDF data to PostScript because Canon's driver needs it.
You can already reproduce it by running the following command in a terminal window: pdf2ps printout and then display the result, for example via gs printout.ps Then you also see the colons replaced by apostrophes. I will report this upstream to the Ghostscript developers. ** Changed in: cups (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete => Triaged ** Package changed: cups (Ubuntu) => ghostscript (Ubuntu) ** Changed in: ghostscript (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => High ** Changed in: ghostscript (Ubuntu) Status: Triaged => Confirmed -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/897605 Title: Letter "o" replaced by apostrophe on printout To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ghostscript/+bug/897605/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
